American Marketing Association

The American Marketing Association (AMA) is to foster scientific study and research in the field of marketing; to develop sound thinking in marketing theory; to improve the methods and techniques of marketing research, to promote friendly relations between students, faculty and area business people and to improve knowledge of how a Christian Worldview positively impacts marketing. AMA is open to students of any major who are interested in marketing.

Association of Computing Machinery

The Association of Computing Machinery is hosted by the Computing and Information Sciences Department and is open to all students who have an interest in computers and technology. The ACM chapter meets every other week and hosts peer-led workshops on topics such as "Building Your Own Computer" and "The Linux Operating System" as well as pursuing networking, gaming, service projects and beginning and end of the term parties.

Community of Accountants

The Community of Accountants is to supplement classroom learning by helping students to apply the accounting and finance knowledge they have acquired in the classroom and passing that knowledge on to other students as the organization seeks to master accounting and finance in a fun-filled learning environment. English and Writing Club

The English and Writing Club will create opportunities for spiritual and academic growth as well as developing a sense of community and planning activities for English and Writing majors. Membership is limited to those English and Writing majors that maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.

Future Educators Association

The Future Educators Association provides the community with educational opportunities open to public and private schools, teachers, and residents of Marion and the surrounding areas. FEA also provides students with opportunities to discuss their clinical, practica, and student teaching experiences as well as fellowship and informal conversation about issues that are of interest to pre-service teachers. FEA is open to all students that have declared education as their major.

John Wesley Honors College Student Association

The John Wesley Honors College Student Association will promote spiritual growth and academic achievement through a challenging intellectual environment in which students (both within the association and on campus more broadly) can broaden their perspective on the world and maximize their intellectual gifts and leadership potential. They will accomplish this be creating opportunities for spiritual development, service, intellectual discovery and growth, as well as personal enrichment. All members of the John Wesley Honors College are "active" members of the John Wesley Honors College Student Association.

La Amistad Hispanica

The objective of La Amistad Hispanica is to stimulate a desire to learn the Spanish language and culture by enhancing the classroom experience through extra-curricular activities, sponsor activities and social events related to the Spanish language and culture, represent the Spanish department with purpose of expanding and developing the program, and to provide service to IWU and the Hispanic community in Marion. Membership is open to any Spanish major/minor, anyone that has completed a Spanish course at the university level, or anyone that is deemed fluent in Spanish by a Spanish instructor at IWU.

Mathematical Academia Consortium

Mathematical Academia Consortium (MAC) is a non-profit organization that wishes to provide educational, spiritual, and social enrichment for the IWU mathematics community. Membership is limited to IWU students that are pursing a major or minor in mathematics or mathematics education and have completed one semester in the mathematics department.

Men in Nursing is a national organization provides an opportunity for nursing and pre-nursing students to grow through mentoring and promotion of nursing as a viable profession for men and women.

MENC: National Association of Music Education

National Association of Music Education (MENC) provides members with the opportunity to become acquainted with leaders in the music education profession through participation in programs, demonstrations, discussions, workshops, and performances planned by the local chapter, the Indiana Music Educators Association, and the National Association for Music Education. This organization is open to any IWU student that has an interest in music education.

Model United Nations Club

The Model United Nations Club provides members the opportunity to learn to integrate faith in the involvement of international affairs, to generate awareness of and foster active participation in issues of international affairs, and to compete in Model UN events.

The Nurses Christian Fellowship consists of nursing and pre-nursing majors, provides a supportive environment for students to grow holistically, and coordinates community heath care activities.

Psychology Club

The Psychology Club is about creating community by connecting psychology majors and friends together for fun and fellowship. Also doing outreach by compassionately touching the Marion community with the love of Christ and serving them in a meaningful manner. Members strive for academic development by pushing each other to pursue academic excellence to become competent in the Psychology field. Many opportunities are provided for friendship, fellowship and fun while engaging in planned meetings and events.

Science Club

The Science Club promotes scientific interest and knowledge through participating and planning activities related to the Physical Sciences and Math. The club sponsors films and speakers on topics of current interest and schedules outings and field trips. Students enrolled in Science or Math courses are eligible for membership.

The Social Work Club is open to all Social Work Majors and is structured to assist members in increasing their professional awareness and to expand their knowledge of social work and social service issues. The group also assists with special campus and community projects.

Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE)

Through Students In Free Enterprise(SIFE) IWU is one of 1500 universities in 37 countries that offers business students the opportunity to change their world by practicing free enterprise principles in their communities. In the process students develop highly-valued leadership, teamwork and communication skills. Working as teams the students also learn entrepreneurial concepts through educational outreach projects in Marion and the surrounding community.

Student Nurses Association

Student Nurses Association members unite together with Christ to serve the IWU campus and community. With an attitude of servanthood SNA promotes the support of fellow students and faculty members; enhances unity and ensures future success as an organization by mentoring new members and building healthy relationships throughout the group; and promotes professionalism. SNAs work reaches beyond the perimeters of the campus and into the streets of the local neighborhoods through community outreach efforts. SNA is open to all pre-nursing and nursing majors.

Iota Omega Upsilon Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota (counseling)

Iota Omega Upsilon Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota (IOU) is the IWU chapter of the International Counseling and Academic and Professional Honor Society, Chi Sigma Iota. IOU´s purpose is to promote scholarship, research, integration of faith, spirituality and professionalism and to recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the field of counseling specifically for Graduate Students of the Counseling Program at IWU as well as the general student population through the use of guest speakers, leadership development, professional and community experience as well as fellowship and internship opportunities.

College Libertarians

College Libertarians seek to provide diversity in the political sphere of IWU through education of the student body and faculty in libertarian ideals and to assist in the local, state, and national political process on behalf of the Libertarian Party. Membership is open to all students and faculty.

College Republicans

College Republicans promote conservative and scripture-based initiatives within the Republican Party. College Republicans work to increase awareness of political responsibility, voter registration, local and national political elections. The IWU Chapter assists in the election of Republican candidates at all levels of government. Members of College Republicans also travel nationwide to attend political conferences. The group works to strengthen a conservative political solidarity within the IWU student body.

Divine Purpose Gospel Choir

The intent of the Divine Purpose Gospel Choir is to first and foremost glorify God through song. They are dedicated to changing lives by using music to minister the Gospel and providing a diverse musical environment that is available to all members of the IWU community.

His Hands

His Hands aims to teach and enable students to worship God, through sign language, for the glory of Christ Jesus. His Hands strives to increase student knowledge of deaf culture and language so that they will be equipped to respond, teach, and witness to the hearing-impaired population. The Student Activities Council (SAC) consists of student coordinators who plan activities that are designed to provide opportunities for students to interact socially, spiritually and intellectually outside the classroom. SAC is responsible for SAC Weekend, Homecoming, Rebash, Family Weekend, Kids Weekend, Exalt Worship Service, Ski Trip, Spotted Cow Music Festival and much more.

Students for Life

Students for Life is a non-profit organization that focuses on creating an abortion-free America while promoting Christian conservative, pro-life political leaders, espouse laws and institutions. They also offer Biblically grounded positions on pressing social and political issues as they relate to abortion by bringing pro-life speakers to our campus.

Student Government Organization

The Student Government Organization (SGO) represents the total student body on issues and information concerning student welfare and services. The organization´s purpose is to promote service and positive welfare of the students. SGO also distributes significant funds to student organizations in support of their mission and activities. World Christian Fellowship

World Christian Fellowship is a student missions organization that provides a means for students to serve as world Christians through worship, prayer, giving and going. Major activities include a weekly worship service and an annual campus missions conference. WCF also has outreach ministries to the local community.

IWU Budokai provides an opportunity for its participants to learn and practice a variety of classical martial arts in a Christian environment in order to pursue higher levels of character, scholarship, and leadership.

IWU Cycling/Triathlon Club

The IWU Cycling/Triathlon Club promotes community connectedness and personal well-being by organizing group rides and events for all levels of cyclists that are open to the IWU student body, faculty and Marion community. This club also allows students who wish to race in the varied types of cycling at the collegiate level the opportunity to do so while providing a fun and relaxing atmosphere where individuals can develop patterns of life-long fitness and build lasting relationships. Caesura

Caesura (pronouced seh-shur-uh) is a literary magazine published annually by our campus chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English Honor Society. The magazine is made up entirely of work by Indiana Wesleyan students.

 

The Legacy (yearbook)

The Legacy is the campus yearbook. The editorial staff is chosen through an application and interview process for a term of one year. The yearbook is a 200-page publication with a Fall delivery.

The Sojourn is the University student newspaper, which is published biweekly during the fall and spring semesters. The editorial staff is chosen in the spring. Staff positions are open to any student who is interested in journalism. Some Sojourn staff members receive stipends.
