Submission Process

Artwork Submission

Each artist may submit 10-15 pieces on cd/dvd for the curator to review. A submission form  must accompany the artwork. These may be picked up at the gallery or downloaded  and printed from the wildcat page. The Gallery has the right to choose which artwork, if any, is accepted and received on consignment. After the review process is completed the artist will be informed which pieces were/were not chosen. At that point the submission form will be updated, and only those pieces found on the updated list will be displayed. Generally, all accepted pieces require a mat and frame.  An artist's statement must also accompany the the accepted artwork.  If you need additional information you must contact Rachel Marconi at rachel.marconi@indwes.edu.

Delivery of Artwork

The artist is responsible for the delivery of the artwork to the gallery. Our preference is that it be delivered personally, but should the circumstances prevent that, then the artist is responsible for the packing, shipping, and insuring of the work to the store.

Display of Work

The manner and length of time the work is displayed is at the sole discretion of the Gallery. However, the artwork will generally be displayed for a 3 week period. The artist will not ask for return of the artwork prior to this time period.

Consignment

The artist may determine whether or not he/she wants to simply display the work or put it up for purchasing. Upon sale of the consigned works, the Gallery is entitled to a commission of 25%.

Publicity

The artist shall allow photographs of the works and biographical information to be displayed in the store, given to clients, and used for promotional and publicity purposes. The artist reserves all copyrights to reproduction prints. In every such use, the artist shall be acknowledged as the creator and copyright owner of the artwork.

Return of Works

Work unsold after the agreed upon length of display time will need to be picked up by the artist themselves within one week of closing date. If the work is not picked up within this time frame it will become property of the gallery. The Gallery would prefer not to ship the artwork back to the artist, but if this is necessary it is the artist’s responsibility to pay for shipping costs prior to the shipment. 1920 Gallery is not liable for any damages assumed during shipment.
