Fall 2009 Show Schedule

Show #1 Whonsetler Photography (September 14-October 9)

This show displays digital photography of Christopher Whonsetler. The emotive images were taken in England, Scotland, Ireland, and Orkney. They give viewers an opportunity to join him in his oversees travels, and delight in the richness of aesthetic beauty.

Show #2 Illustrate (October 12-22)

Our second show of the year will consist of illustrations digitally displayed. We are introducing a show that will invite the viewer to experience illustration and its relationship to light. We will be showcasing artwork projected on the walls and displayed on 20” iMacs. Prints will be available for sale.

Show #3 2 (November 2-20)

Creative writing and Visual arts are collaborating to create pieces centered around every form of the word two. (Two, too, to) The pieces will stem from those words, allowing artists to interpret the theme in many different ways. Pieces may be displayed on the gallery walls, and we would like to give ceiling space to artists that want to explore hanging art. The ceiling space would be approximately 24 by 24 and would be suspended from metal beams. This is a great chance to bring new life to the gallery space and challenge what a typical art show may look like.

Show #4 Santaʼs Workshop (November 23-December 16)

During the Christmas season, we want to provide a show that will be accessible to those who want to buy unique gifts for the holidays. This show will consist of handmade pieces that bring the concept of “form follows function” to the gallery. The ideas are endless and submissions can be anything from clothing design, pottery, jewelry, calendars, home decor to stuffed animal creatures. This year, give a gift thatʼs one of a kind.

Spring 2009 Show Schedule

Show #5 Where has Time Gone? (January 12-February 5)

Time grew legs and ran away. It may sound silly, but this show featuring the work of Rachel Marconi addresses this very personification. The work exhibited will encourage viewers to enter a space similar to a toy store and interact with work which produces nostalgic feelings reminiscent of childhood and the kid within each adult. Come play!

Show #6 When Ear and Eye Met (February 8- 25)

February 8th marks the opening of the second show of the spring semester, featuring artwork based off of music. If you have any art done for a band, or a piece inspired by a music selection, be sure to submit! This show will be a multi-sensory experience.

Show #7 Performing Wallpaper (March 8-26)

This show will feature a massive collection of art and performance. The work will either be displayed tightly, almost as if it were wallpaper, or artists can take a portion of the wall and create a piece dedicated as wallpaper covering. Blank spaces will also be left for hanging the byproducts of performance pieces scheduled throughout the 3 weeks.

Show #8 The Roaring Twenties presented by the 1920 Gallery (March 29-April 28)

The last show of the year will be a grand finale combining live performance, classic film, art deco, and the culinary arts. All of these categories will be based around the theme of The Roaring Twenties. It will be an evening of art you will not want to miss! Attendees are encouraged to dress up.
